Who would have suspected that our increasing dramatic weather extremes would deliver a good weather extreme. For only the fifth time, we have not had a hurricane through August.

Shrimpers should be happy, and coastal rental businesses did not loose a week or more to storms. I’ll take it. FEMA needs a break as well.

Because they've been telling us for YEARS that "global climate change" was gonna make hurricanes more numerous and more severe. When it doesn't happen..........it doesn't fit the narrative of their big lie. So the media (150% complicit in the socialist take-over agenda) brushes over it.

The last one we had through my part of Ga came in October of ‘18. Don’t care if I ever experience one again in my lifetime or my children's lifetime. It wasn’t but a Cat 1 when it came over, but IF one ever comes again I’m packing up and heading either North or South to avoid it!

Most of the big ones are last week of August and first 2 weeks of September. That being said I have worked a couple late ones that were impressive.

Georgia is in kind of a sweet spot to avoid the worst of it with the Atlantic ones turning north as they approach or the Gulf ones hitting further west and blowing themselves out as they pass to the north.

But we do get the occasional freak like the one in 18 that comes in from due south.

Go ahead and admit it, you're skeered. That's why you headed for the high ground, lol.

Seriously though I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the coastal boat business during hurricane season.

For 15 year I lived on the NC Outer banks (Hatteras Island). My sound side lot elevation was 2.8 feet. Seen all I ever care to experience, but avoided major losses.

Let's just keep praying that we get a pass this year for any coast. I left for Katrina, but stayed for all the ones since.

You are right Warrior. I got fed up with the darn things. i had to take waterwcrld apart a number of times in preparation for those storms and it gets old after a while. Riding one out off shore is fine. But being stuck in or near marians is a whole different ball of wax. All of a sudden you got broken up concrete dock chunks heading your way and those things a bugger to have to push off in that kind of weather when everything is bouncing around and all ya got it a boat hook. Boats that have ripped off their dock lines and cleats are another. My anchor setup was dragging a little during one and once there is a bit of loose in the system ya got yer hands full holding it all together so the 3 boats and 3 docks don't beat the crap out of each other. I much prefer to be off shore with just one boat to look after than our tied together island a mile from the marina upwind from us. Then there is the clean up of the marina after a hurricane as we are inevitable the first ones on scene before anyone else can come back with evacuations and all that going on. ....... Nope I like it here in the hills. But I said that I would go down there to prep before the next major one hits. And then again to clear the mess up afterwards.

Weather guys are doubling down, now they're saying its still going to be an above active hurricane season....guess they don't have a calendar cause they're running out of time....

Been weathering hurricanes and nor'easters almost 70 years, some of them are very exciting.... grin

Climate Change is not just a narrative. It's a multi-trillion-dollar global industry, with the Weather Channel (and subsidiaries) as the largest marketing firm is the US. They have weather to sell, and like every industry the products are well identified with brand names. They've recently started to name heat waves -- https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/sci/scientists-heat-waves-hurricanes.html

Most people accept that at some time in the past the earth experienced one or more ice ages .During that time weather patterns where of course different . The animals that inhabited the earth where much different than now At some time the temps warmed up and wildlife on earth changed .So what changed the weather from the ice age to what I like to refer it as the ''Heat Age' that we are currently in .It sure was not global warming caused by the use of gas and coal and deiseal fuel .I do not know the answer but I am pretty sure there as many other people do not know as much s they think they do.

I'm sure that the "made caused climate change" proponents are getting worried and disappointed that there have been no hurricanes recently. They are sick folks.
