No, I bought a set because I'm in the middle of a chicken coop and needed a better impact. Now I'm a total milwaukee guy. I was using an old M12, which was left out in the rain and doesn't work right anymore (wonder why? ). So I upgraded to M18.
A few weeks I was changing wheel bearing in my 2006 F150. Has 142 000 miles and original wheel bearing. I have two real good Milwaukie 1/2 Impacts and they couldn't break them loose. I got my air 1/2 Impact and nothing. I was under the pickup with a 1/2 breaker bar and couldn't break the loose. I took the handle off my floor jack and was pulling them down and breaker bar broke and tried to break my nose and cheek. I said screw this and went to Runnings and purchased the big 1/2 with 1400 lb of Torque and it spun them out like they weren't even tight. It is amazing how much Torque they have.
I then jacked up my 1989 F250 and spun the lug nuts off to put new tires on it. The lug have not been removed in over 10 yrs. I can not imagine another Impacts as good as a Milwaukie. They are king in the cordless Era.
this guy does some excellent benchmark testing giving really direct comparison to torque
there are other factors but torque in impacts is a big one
and in this cordless world , batteries the exact battery can make a reasonable difference
int he end you are very much buying a battery platform that has the tools you need to fit it
I own all orange cordless stuff , and I am in no way saying it is the best , just what works for me in my price range and performance need for the tools
I have a bunch of older red corded tools that I like also depending on the task

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
Another thing to keep in mind is the excellent customer service Milwaukee offers. I'm a general contractor and all my tools get used hard. I use the Milwaukee M18 platform for all my cordless tools and have no complaints. I got a 1 1/4" spade bit stuck in a drill once and sent it in for repair. They replaced the chuck, brushes and trigger and sent it back for free. Another one just got tired after almost a year of hard daily use. I sent it back and they sent me a new one for free.
I am not at all impressed with the DeWalt cordless platform. I'm also not impressed with their newer corded tools, the quality of their once great corded tools has fallen considerably. I own a Dewalt table saw and 12" sliding miter saw. Both are twenty-plus years old and have seen hard, nearly daily use. Both are tough as nails and continue to perform well although I did have to replace the bearings in the miter saw recently.
Milwaukee corded tools aren't what they once were either, but, IMO, they are considerably better than Dewalt tools.
Not full time but quite a few house rehabs and a new house build. I went with Dewalt because of the ease of batteries. I could literally hop on marketplace and get one for half price. My buddy has Milwaukee and I used quite a bit. I have never noticed any difference in quality. I do like his pack out boxes better than mine, seems they’re a bit more heavy duty. The same guy that now runs Milwaukee once ran dewalt so a lot of it is his marketing strategies is very good.
We have alot of & do a ton of work with Dewalt cordless tools (commercial HVAC & plumbing) without many issues & the guys are hard on them. Decent warranty and price

There are adapters available on amazon , to convert from one type to another . They slip on the tool then you slip the other battery unto the adapter. Look to be about 1 inch thick. Haven't used one. If you have tired batterys , might be a bad cell, there are u tube video, how to test and repair. You will need a set of torke safety screw drivers to get the battery screws out. voltmeter and soldering iron. old243
Can't beat Milwaukee's warranty. However, Dewalt has much lighter tools for everyday use. I have all Milwaukee and my brother has all Dewalt. We work together everyday. Whenever I pick up his Dewalt impact driver I'm surprised everytime. My Milwaukee impact with no battery is heavier than his impact with a battery. Milwaukee's impacts are better. Dewalt's drills are better. Just depends on what you use them for.
