How was the New York State Trappers Convention? Let's see some reports and pictures.

Just got home Nittany, had a visit with the “ boss man”, talked with Mark Zagger, John Rockwood, coon creek had a booth, talked a little beaver trapping, nice afternoon.

It was very good. Sales wise, it was the best NYSTA convention I ever had. The Tundra is going home lighter.

As usual, this was a very well-run convention. There were a lot of volunteers putting up tables and getting things back to normal as I was getting packed. They have their act together.
Thanks to the NY folks for a great time!

I just got home.great convention, lotta good people and food.Weather was fantastic.They stopped all dogs in all the buildings,It was only Hank ,and I,so I couldn't go in the buildings, so I bailed a little early.

What? No dogs? That can’t be a trapping rondy! lol

Why do you suppose they didn't allow dogs in the buildings?

Because dogs crap and urinate in the buildings and the Fairgrounds don't want to deal
with the poop.

Are you telling me the trappers don't clean up after their dogs?

I cleaned up after Hank while there, and that happened outside in the grass.
I was told by a vender in the building that somebody got bit just across from him.
I do somewhat understand if thats the case in todays world.

There were 5-6 dogs around me and the people were good about cleaning up after their dogs.

I was in building 2 but was able to break away a little to see the boss and a few others, And as always enjoyed talking to Ed.

I am a dog lover, but the rule about them in the buildings is for good reason. There is one guy who I will not name who brings his dog every year. that dog was not controlled and was digging in the dirt piles of the demo area, and was allowed to run loose all the way down into building 3. I, for one, am disgusted, "love me,. love my dog?"

Two comments:

No NTA representation???

No microphone in demo area, very hard to hear some of the speakers.

That’s a problem especially for old folks. Me!

For the vendors like me that have several glass bottles of lure and other things displayed on a not that sturdy card table, the site of a loose 80+ pound dog roaming around can make you a little nervous. I've also witnessed more than one dog fight in the aisles too.

I was there for the DEC cable restraint school. Very well organized, started on time and finished on time. Learned more than I expected. Scott has real time experience and it shows.

Thanks to Bill Swaggler, NYSTA ,and whoever else was responsible for setting up the class.

That would make for a Little Rascals moment!

Could only attend on Thursday, September 1st due
to week end work obligations on Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
and today, Labor Day.

Picked up 33 used #1.5 Victor and B&L long springs for
$3.00 each and 17 used COON DAGGERS for $6.35 each.

That's 50 more traps that I may or may not ever set out but like
many on Trapperman, I can't pass up a good deal on traps I like.

Looked for BOCO and coonman but neither showed up.

I did see world famous stink dog trapper Zag-bagger but didn't
get his autograph.

He looks shorter in real life than he does on the internet !!!
