A common saying is "Smokers, the entire world is their ashtray."
Keith And yes, coincidently, that was said by Gorbachev. Told ya, the Russians.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Smoking allowed in bars and restaurants there? no Awe, bless your heart Jayme. Maybe be like Walt Longmire and dedicate your life to picking them up. Maybe start a gofundme? Good luck with that, I started one for including obese stick people to meme's, cause heavy stick people have rights to and are neglected. I wasn't able to raise any money. lol, who rattled your chain.

Many moons ago in basic training, the guys that smoked had to field strip their cigarettes, most of them smoked non filter cigarettes so they didn't have to contend with butts.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Used to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) me off as 30 year old probie fire fighter. Guys throw butts and match sticks in urinals. Said was probies job clean urinals in morning pick them butts out. They also flicked them in yard by flag pole. Which probie was supposed to police up in morning when put flag up. I did that for the first year until wasn't a actual probie any more. Still low man at station so still my job clean urinals empty waste baskets all that simple house keeping. Well I quit picking them butts out of urinal and emptying ash trays once I had that year completes. That got me a trip to the office pretty quickly. Told chief I did all my cleaning and work like job description said. That didn't include picking butts out urinals or empting ash trays being the other guys mother or wife. I was not some 18 year old kid the guys were going to bully around with that crap. That started a whole war with smokers vs none smokers... Which was about 10 to 1 in favor smokers. Started out guys could no longer smoke in kitchen or bedroom. That worked for fine and most everyone was ok with that. Then state got involved and guys couldn't smoke any where inside building. Around 2000 think it was? was a change in some work comp rules I believe. Didn't apply to us old guys.. I guess. They Wouldn't even hire a smoker and once person wss hired could be fired if seen smoking. Thing is I never smoked cigarettes did smoke few cigars regular for while. Didn't care if others smoked still don't. I can pick or choose how much smoke I want to put up with in bar restaurant where ever. As kid everyone I knew smoked. I even rolled cigarettes for my old man still have the roller. But I didn't and still don't like or want to pick up after them that smoke. I do have to say it's nice not to go to a wedding or banquet. Next morning clothes don't smell like been out in old saloon.
So smoke-um if you gottem. Just don't flick your butt out window at stop light. Expect others pick it up. Oh yes smoking did kill my older brother. But I never nagged him about quitting. He did tell my son and his daughter they should.

You remember a discussion a few years back about smokers trashing parking lots and such? I remember you saying you never really thought about flicking a cig butt as littering and that you'd stop doing it. Well, a few others need the same lessons. Outside every store, at every stop light, etc... take a look at the ground. Dang litter bugs. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ffm18EYk-qYI missed this post. A big part of the problem is that many stores took away the ashtrays outside of the door. If there's an ashtray to put out my cigg in I'll use it every time.
