Just got back safe and sound from Scugog. Not a barn burner this year, but the reason I go is to visit my brother and his family and to bring the kids hunting. It was hot, hot, HOT weather. Running BB through a Carlin's mid range choke on days 1&2 and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn...switched to #2 and dropped the next goose I shot at. Was a great few days with family. Very grateful to the Lord for so many blessings.
Just happy to be here.

The kids were cold in the morning. 62f until about 8am then a quick run up to 85f all 3 days. I was in a long sleeve "sun shirt" like the fishermen wear and I about died of heat stroke. I don't care for temps over 65f

The kids had a great time. My nephew shot his first goose and cleaned it his self..I wish I had a pic of that hack job to show him 2 years from now LOL. My boy spent as much time catching crickets in the mown hay as he did "hunting". It is my earnest hope that one day, they look back on this as some of the most important lessons that they'll ever learn and that they just remember that dad went out of his way to take them after I am gone.
Just happy to be here.

Maybe the geese saw the flash from the Electonic piece
They'll still have good memories LOL 330 - 4am wakeup and 5 hours in a hot field... I'm bringing their electronics. Honestly, the lack of dead geese had everything to do with poor shooting, we probably should have had about 6 more geese on the opener but we shot really poorly.
Just happy to be here.

Looks like fun and adventure with the family. Nothing better than having the kids out with you. We don't always shoot well but that never diminishes great family fun on God's green earth. Kids all look real happy.
