Bear Tracker OP trapper B Joined: Jul 2016 Posts: 2,772 Wisconsin	Hunting Wednesday 88 degrees, humid, seen one 200 lber. I was going to shoot the first adult bear that came in but Kathy sent me a picture of a bigger one so I decided to wait a couple days. Thursday 82 but high winds. Thought no bear moving today, then about 7:00 winds died down, shortly after this one walked in. One shot with my Dad's old 38-40 dbl lung forty yard shot. Went 70 yards. Bear Tracker OP trapper B Joined: Jul 2016 Posts: 2,772 Wisconsin	Thanks all, My dad passed when I was 24 severe asthmatic, I always struggled shooting the old 38-40, so I decided to give a try again. I've shot lots of bears mostly archery. It is really special and the only bear shot with his gun. My wife, and brother were on the recovery. We had to skin and qtr. it right away so no actual weight, guesstimating 350-400. Got to bed around 2:30 then we left at 8:00 am for the trappers convention.

Had to be at least 400 lbs, two little fur balls running around. Rained here all day yesterday so I didn’t go out yesterday. Wedding anniversary next weekend and following weekend is last weekend of early bear here in New York. Gonna pour the coals to em. Nice bear, aught to make a nice rug
