I'm looking for a fast and efficient way to connect traps to my hagz brackets mounted on fiberglass poles. I have them all preassembled so I don't have to do it out on the line. The problem is that I have a small wire clip for electric fence below the hagz to keep it at its level at all times and then I'm not able to lose it. I would have to take off the little clip and the hagz bracket and then slide the swivel on the trap on the pole and then put the clip and hagz back on to have a complete outfit. I was looking for a fast and affordable way to hook them up to the fiberglass poles. I was considering using heavier-duty karabiners/spring clips, I have also been pulling lap links off of some old traps. The only problem with this is that karabiners are expensive and lap links are in short supply around here. I would like to avoid using wire just in case it was to twist off, I have some cable extensions but they're a minimum of 6 ft and I feel like that's too much length for a muskrat. Thanks in advance!

If you're talking about rhe foothold brackets, you take the trap swivel off the trap and replace it with the bracket. The j hook from the swivel attaches the bracket to the chain

Yeah it sounds like you should use a j hook, the hagz bracket IS the swivel And the mount. Watch his YouTube video on the many ways to use them.

I don't have enough uses for them where I trap to find them much of a time saver myself but they work as advertised.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

It was looking like this was the only option for a while and was seeing if I could avoid it somehow.

I know how to use them but was trying to avoid having to take swivels off 100 traps and putting hagz back on.

You can always just buy or make j hooks and attach to the chain so you have both a swivel and the bracket.

I just set aside a few traps and add the bracket right to the chain.

Yep, set aside 93 of them and now I'm going through and adding my 93 hagz brackets because that's all of the fiberglass poles I have otherwise it would be an even 100.
