Sandhills are a sight to see over central S Dakota. The flocks will stretch from horizon to horizon and fly in what can only be described as controlled confusion.

We used to goose hunt in the Texas panhandle and they were up there by the thousands

Flew past a flock over Ruby AK yesterday, headed southeast.

Maybe if they fly high enough, they can just coast on south! Lol, I've only seen a handful in my time.

No large flights here yet but there were a hundred or more feeding in a corn field chopped for silage yesterday. I stopped the car and rolled down the window it sure sounds like prehistoric times to hear that many making noise.

When they are in the thermal winds they are are almost invisible they are up so high raptors are moving south to pretty much need binoculars to see them there so high.

Hoping to see some this weekend if the weather is good they pass over my place at the south end of superior very cool to see. If the wind is right they only come down to feed they can glide up there for days. Heard there was a lot moving thru southern ontario on Saturday.

Sandhill cranes aren’t just in the Sandhills anymore! I just got back home from a week in NE Indiana, at the trappers college, and they are thick around the Pigeon River Wildlife refuge. Numbers just keep increasing, and a lot of states won’t allow you to hunt them. Gonna be like snow geese pretty soon! Think I finally found a bird noisier than guinea hens! lol

Florida is inundated with them. They walk around the streets and lawn like they own the place.

Getting to be a pest here in nw/mn.
But our DNR is still stuck in the 90's.
Starting to dislike like them as much as turkeys.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

WI is one of the leading states for nesting Sand Hill Cranes. That and the home of the International Crane Foundation being in poynette WI makes any discussion regarding regulated seasons slow and difficult.
