Don't know that I have ever heard this before or seen it in discussion here. I was just informed by a dog handler I know. That there was some study saying K9s preference is to poop facing north or south with north be preferred. I of course goggled it but don't know how to post a link from my phone. Wonder what this might mean for trap placement at a set using a turd as an attraction or eye appeal? Anyone have thoughts about this or maybe already considered compass direction when placing/setting traps for k9s?

I hope nobody finds out I am going to watch dogs defecate when I get a chance for awhile. That could be embarrassing.

Seems to me they like to face into the wind, which here is out of the NW usually. I figure they want to be able to smell trouble since they are preoccupied.

Right Mike I've have for years noted wind direction in placing trap on a feild and the up hill down hill thing. Of course setting on sign is probably most important. The one place I could see the north south thing coming most into play. Maybe on a post set or where you might be trying to crowd the approach to the trap?walk threw? Guess I will be watching the dogs pooping more myself. Can't say I ever study on it. Mac

I had to check the calendar and make sure it’s not April 1st. You think that would matter to some of these jokers?

I hear Mac partakes in a little Tom foolery from time to time. No idea where you would heard that ??? I have never made fun of dogs pooping lmao. Maybe if I'd said they only poop facing a blue bucket if there is one anywhere nearby. I will have to get on computer later tonight see can I post the link to the article. I do know and have tested the don't pee into the wind thing. That is real. Mac .
