I sold one fund at $80 per share and its now at $60 per share, so I'm thinking about buying. The fund I moved $ into is up over a dollar from $16.45 to $17.55. Not sure when I'll pull the trigger.

With my luck, I never try to 'time the market'. I just keep dollar-cost averaging the market. Investing is a marathon, not a sprint....

I wish I could do same day trades but there is a 24 hour lag, I lost out on some growth when I moved it but felt like I needed to secure the amount it had grown and not loose it. At these prices I'll get 4 shares for every 3 I sold . I bought some of these shares at $35 and up over the years. This is a fund not separate stocks .

No way to know where this might stop. I think we could...and will....see 3600 and if that doesn't hold we might see 3000.

Depending on one's age this could be a godsend to investors with10- 20 or more years ahead of them.

Midland's comment about not timing the market is correct IMO.

DCA is a good way to build a position over time with a lower break even point.

Thanks

DCA is what I've always done and still do what I did was move those shares that cost half of their value to a safe fund to protect the increase in value but didn't change ( I actually increased my amount of buying from 10% to 15% and kept the same funds for purchase)

Well I feel pretty sure that there will be more volatility ahead the closer we get to the elections.

I’m tempted but waiting. Here’s a question for some of you knowledgeable guys. Chip stocks have been getting beat pretty badly. All I hear about is a chip shortage which means high demand to me. When is the right time to buy into chip stocks?

volatility is what i like. I sell puts now and when I get "stuck" with a stock it is one I like of course and sell a call right away. Usually loose it within 6 weeks. If the put does not go I just consider that premium interest on my savings.. I watch stocks go way up after I "loose" them- so what I made my share and am on to something else. Just have to keep a upto date list of thing that I like that are in "fashion" For me fundemental are not as important as fad value......jk

I have to admit I am a volatility junkie. I only sell puts on something I want to own or own more of. I care about fundamentals and shun the fad stuff. No meme stocks for me

Never had a bitcion or Mem stock either, not even sure what that means. Mine are stuff that I like and would like to hold if I get stuck with them for a while, but I do prefer to keep switching out and getting the gain rather than holding and watching a gain fall. I have the time to do the homework so no loss there. My big looser was SMG (not sub machine gun but Scotts Miracle Grow), they just could not do anything right last year. Lost 15 points on them.......jk

The FED is going to raise rates again next month and is finally, or at least trying, to get serious about QE.

Its going to be interesting, I'm not going to get too excited until they pivot.

I'm not a trader so to speak. Don't have the discipline. There is always money to be made in volatility
