My 18 year old boy was lucky enough to take this bull on Friday. Every time he told me he passed up a small bull I’d think of the empty freezer. I’m happy for him that his persistence paid off. A cow call brought this guy in screaming so hot, he had to stop him before shooting him. Note: fancy and expensive camo pants, not needed. Work jeans work just fine. [Linked Image]

Nice one, thanks for posting.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Thanks I’m extremely proud. He got his own permission from landowner, hiked in and out each day, stayed persistent and passed up lesser bulls and learned from observing what was happening and it paid off for him.

Looks like a great place to kill an elk! Right out in the open where a truck and loader tractor can pick him up....

Nice bull!

Not a mountain in sight. I’d like that.

Nice bull!

It really couldn’t have been better, the farmer he works for came with a trailer, they got it in there and then took it to the farm to the front end loader. All I had to do was split a nice washed elk carcass in half and get it to my buddies cooler.

Absolutely perfect!

Having studied all the wrong ways to do it over the years, there are some shortcuts, but none are as good as shooting it where you can get to it and mechanically handle it.
