I don't have rust yet but then we seldom treat roads here. Of I take it onto the beach I stop and get the full service wash which includes pressure washing the undercarriage

If your 5’9” and 170 lbs ....you’ll fit. In a Tundra? You've lost your mind. You're thinking of a Gen 1 Tacoma. If you can't fit in a tundra you ain't fitting in a 1500/150 either.

Rust bucket and poor mileage Gas mileage, yes. Rust bucket? Nope. You're confusing it with a GM product.

Call me whatever you like......
Give me a choice between products from Germany, Japan, China, Taiwan, most of the rest of Asia anywhere in Europe and even a lot of products produced in the US and I will buy from Germany or Japan most of the time.
Our automotive industry was producing pure junk (compared to what they produce now) prior to the Japanese imports rolling in. They had to improve or die. The more reliable, less expensive to operate and maintain Japanese cars gobbled up market share and forced the US companies to make changes. But, in my experience dealing with US car makers versus Japanese, the US still has a lot to learn about customer service and standing behind their product when there is a problem.
I never intend to own another vehicle produced by Ford or GM because of their refusal to fix obvious problems while vehicles were under warranty.
It has been as different as night and day dealing with Toyota even in situations when the cause of the issue was far more questionable.

Remember when Chevrolet and Chrysler were deemed too big to fail? No real reason to improve when the government will just bail you out. I do remember that. A really stupid move by our government. There were entrepreneurs poised to break into the car market that never got their chance because of that government bail out. We might have a few extra manufacturers producing competitively priced, quality US vehicles by now had the government not interfered.
Eh...wot?

If your 5’9” and 170 lbs ....you’ll fit. I'm a tad bit bigger than that - lol, and I fit in my 2010 model just fine. My mileage averages around 18.7mpg, but mine is a 2wd road truck. It has 269,000 miles on it. Was thinking Tacoma .. Tundra is the one on steroids
