Got to talk to Tom and his wife a few years ago when they stopped at my booth at the FTA convention. The reason he gets the prices he does for fur,is not from the fur prices, but what he makes out of those furs. While I would trap beaver differently than he does,I still would rather watch a show where people trap.So I have enjoyed the show. Tom

It's not that hard to sell tanned beaver for $100. I'll bet he gets over $300 for his deer skins too. Braintanned of course.

I’ve met Tom, salt of the earth. I met Tom and his wife Nancy way back in the late 70's when I lived in northwest Montana. Ran into them at the FTA in Wisconsin a couple years back and they are the same gracious, down to earth couple that they were 40 years ago. They were from pretty humble beginnings then in the 70's. Lived in a much smaller cabin than you see on TV. They made wild crafting items back then and struggled to get by. I remember Nancy telling me Tom had got a new job, planting trees for the USFS or something and now they could afford luxuries', like toothpaste. Zim
