A buddy and I are thinking about heading to SD to hunt pheasants for a couple days in early December. We would like to pay to hunt private land. Does anyone know of anyone that offers land to hunt at a daily rate?

I have nothing clever to put here.

I can hook you up with some local guides around Chamberlain, SD.

Should be a good amount of wild birds this year lots of public ground here with fewer people if your coming later in the season. Pheasant hunting has gone through some changes since the paid hunting craze came and went several years ago.

That would be fantastic Law Dog! Ideally just private land if possible. My buddy has 2 young dogs he wants to put to work and neither one of us care about limiting out. Any idea what the going rate is per day?

Lots of public land, why not hunt that?

When I worked Parks this summer the GPS they gave me had a GFP overlay on it that showed out of the way walk-in areas that I never knew about. a
A large portion of the Missouri River breaks is full of public hunting areas. I’m talking a bunch of it.

Hunt the public land and remember the road ditches and section lines - sometimes those can be fantastic. Pm where you are thinking about going and I might be able to give you a few spots to try.

We go and hunt the ditches, once in awhile we ask permission.
Lots of pay to hunt now and hunt clubs.

Gary Allen’s guide service Chamberlain, SD (605) 734-5591

Dakota Guide service Kimball SD (605) 730-2704 Lee

Both offer hunting and have motel rooms nothing fancy but not overpriced

For the five star treatment look up Thunderstick lodge.

Thank you! I would gladly pay or trade something for any tips. We planned to try to do this last Fall in Western MN but we never got around to it. One of us is retiring in 6 work days so there will be more time then.

Public here is not like public in a lot of other places I hunted public areas within a hour of Chicago it was simply trampled down, I live across a lake with a easy access public area that is pretty quit during the season.

You work for the government why do you care what it costs?

Only for another 6 days. Thanks Rally and we need to get together one of these days anyway. I believe I have some 16 gauge furniture you were looking for anyway.
