What happened? I saw a pile of the same posts copied and pasted, then left home a couple hours, all's gone??? Disgruntled employee or ??? If it's the same guy as on the bowsite forum, he's just torqued cause he got hosed, and there's no recourse for him.

if you send enough fur to the dressers it can happen, although in my experience the glitch was not the fault of the tannery.I have my fur sent thru a 3rd party for convenience, and have been for years and only had one problem which was made right. The 3rd party uses a hammer punch with a code to identify each persons fur when it comes back from the tanner-same method the tannerys use to identify customers fur that is intersorted. Apparently a new employee didnt hammer stamp a few bearhides forcefully enough and they could not be identified when returned from the dressers. I bought a tanned bearhide from inventory of the 3rd party for the price of dressing. I actually wound up with a bigger hide of a bit lesser fur quality, but still a very nice complete hide.
What it really comes down to is how customers are treated when these things happen..

I dont think I would send a once in a lifetime trophy to a commercial garment tannery in the first place. Those should be done by a specialized dresser that does work for taxidermists and that pays attention to individual skins

Those should be done by a specialized dresser that does work for taxidermists and that pays attention to individual skins I agree, but Moyles does a lot of work for taxidermists, not sure that it is the majority of their work, but it is a big chunk of it. I have a friend who is a taxidermist that I work for some, he uses several tanneries and has pretty much had problems with all of them since the Covid fiasco. Everybody having difficulties finding anyone willing to work, and when they can they are inexperienced new employees.

I agree that this is probably covid related new hires. Turn around time is going up again, just like when the fur market collapsed.
