Did it change with each child?

Well,, these days I get to laugh when they get frustrated with their kids, lol.

I'm still amazed that I survived my own childhood, much less my kids'

My daughter is 20 first son was 4 years younger but killed in a wreck at 16 months. My next son is 12 and youngest is 10. The boys are so close they are treated the same.

My daughter was plumb spoiled. First kid and daddy's girl. my parenting style and every aspect of me changed after the wreck. Kids are still spoiled.

Some things changed with each kid(we have 10), but the punishment for disobedience was the same for all of them.

Got two grandkids here now. Yes I do some things different. More experience now. Teaching the same values but not always the same way.

Yep. Different kids require different methods. Part of why we homeschool....each kid learns differently.

Different in ways to reach out and make our kids learn and in ways we have to teach them in all aspects from school to lessons in life. But we teach the same values and life lessons to each of them. So different and the same all at once here.

We have different rules.

My daughter does not open the door for her boy friend and get in the car last, even if she is driving. lol

In my estimation, I turned out some solid citizens. I'm getting to an age where they're starting to worry about me. Unnecessary, but it really warms my heart.

What I find interesting is how little they model the parenting they were exposed to in raising their own children. They're much more lenient than I ever was. I bite my tongue and follow along.

I seemed to have become more lax with each child as far as privileges, but still demanded the same respect from each. Lack thereof resulted in the same punishment as the brothers that came before.
