How much do entry level jobs pay in Anchorage? I know there's Alaska people on trapperman. I know life is difficult in Alaska but my curiosity is killing me. Thank you for your time.

You should ask this question on the Wilderness Trapping forum. You'll have a better chance of getting an answer. However, expect to get the question; "Why Anchorage "? Kind of my first thought also.

I like Anchorage. I know it's a big city but it doesn't feel like a big city in the lower 48 if that makes any sense. I didn't know much goes on in the wilderness trapping forum. I don't view living in Anchorage having much to do with wilderness trapping other than possibly a fur market. But I definitely appreciate the quick response.

Have you been to Anchorage? Have you visited Alaska? The road system and the "Bush" are two different worlds.

Not sure about LosAnchorage, but the better entry level jobs in mining and oil production will start well over $20 and some over $30. Life here is no more difficult than anywhere else. If you know how to work, follow instructions and show up every day it is a great place to live. Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

I know life is difficult in Alaska but my curiosity is killing me. Run, serious question, why do you say this? I have lived in Louisiana, Texas, Alaska, & Wyoming, I found living in Alaska infinitely easier than any of the other states. And before anyone asks, the reason we no longer live there has nothing to do with life being easy or hard. When we lived there, I found that wages were proportional to the cost of living. If you were good help someone would be willing to pay you well enough to keep you working, I would venture to say that is still the case. If you really want to live there, I hope you make it happen!

My dad has a 1st cousin who lives in Sterling, Alaska who wishes he could move back to the lower 48. If living in Alaska is easier, I am happy to hear all about it. I just assumed with the cold weather and rain that they get on the Kenai Peninsula, it could make life difficult. Virginia has almost picture perfect weather. But the natural beauty of Alaska is amazing. It's a bit of a toss up.

It has been raining almost every day since mid July. Like we say around here," It will quit raining when it turns to snow!" I agree south central weather is not so pleasant. Especially when you have to mow the pond; I mean yard.

Anchorage is like any other big city (lots of people, crawling with Democrats, run by liberal Municipal Assembly.)
It just happens to be fairly close to mountains and good fishing! Any resemblance between Anchorage and the rest of Alaska is purely coincidental!

Biggest problem in my opinion is all the new people migrating to our state do so wanting change in their lives but hold on to the things they are running from.
Alaska was a conservative state but it’s like anywhere else it has become the target of the socialists!
We still have freedoms but every election we loose just a little more. It’s been a slow loosing process and a lot of RHINOS have done it!
It’s where we have chosen to live and came here to find change and found it!
I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
