I don't know , just seen my brother put his many rentals up for sale.Why, guess the housing market is up, good return on the original investment.I see your point , as banks don't pay squat in interest .Might be a huge tax rate looming , just don't know .Maybe he's tired of being a landlord , it can be a hassle , in this economy.

Isure don't like down markets but a couple of weeks ago we moved about 40% of our securities into funds that have shown better returns the last decade then our older holdings. It was a great time to move as the capital gains distribution taxes from the last two years of growth caused fund mangers to move a lot of funds and we are not going to have much tax to move significant financial assets. Even with a down market I am not going to be leaving the market soon or at all. Our new investments are a tad lower in the risk scale but have yielded better. A lot of our older holdings involved quite a bit of Europe and Asia funds which were doing well for twenty years but have faltered as of late. Not fun to look at losses but then I am not holding a house I need or want to sell and if it goes it may be down more then the market. The market may well be growing slower for a decade or so but home ownership will be a lot more costly also. Money typically finds its level just like water does when all the storms subside whatever they may be.

OPEC is considering a production cut of 1 million BOPD. I don't think the amount of the cut is a coincidence At the very least OPEC can expect a tragically stupid energy policy emanating from the Oval Office until at least January 2025.
