I had a 24' Camper with roof leaks in two spots, floor had two holes. Everything else was Nice inside and out.
Word of mouth I showed it to one Couple. The Guy was like me I could tackle the floor but the Roof leaks I drew the line at. ! Was asking $800 then 600 they Said we'll think about it.

So on Monday being kinda broke I listed it on Craigslist Mpls for $500 was going to ask $400.00 but my Wife said Go 5 and have room to go down if needed.
I put up 6 photos and Stated "Nice Project Trailer" listed the leaks and floor issues.

Within 10 minutes of listing I had two hits. 2 ladies wanted more photos of the floor problems. I skipped them abs clicked on the 3rd guy. He said " I'll take it" so I replied It's Yours!!!
I got 10 more replies to the ad after that. THEN TEN MORE- Total was 29 offers 1@600. -3@700. One trade offer for a firearm. Then an offer for $1,000,00 I told My Wife and All the offerers Pending pick up
Because the Golden Rule applies. Because I've lost out before when someone said they'd take my offer but then they sold it as I was driving there.

I sold it this morning to Two Asian guys- for the First $500 they offered ; who were Very grateful. They were bringing it to their deer camp property.

I sure could have used that Thousand ...but I would have spent it and felt like crap.

You did the right thing and were a man of your word. That is worth far more than $500. If you told the man it was his that was your virtual handshake. Good on you for keeping your word. I tip my hat to you Sir.

Next time, if you're not in a desperate hurry, think about it a bit.
Say "considering offers" and see who's curious.
Ya gotta take your time, slow down and start high (er).
Look around and survey the current market. (sounded low to begin with)
But, you did do the right thing by stickin to your guns.

Always, always ask $500-1000 more than want you want or what it’s worth on old junk!!
I had an old jeep Cherokee I was asking $2000 for. If I didn’t sell it I was going to drop it off for scrap money at a junk yard. Had 2 guys in the yard about ready to fight over it and I told them whoever has the most cash gets the keys. One guy pulled out $1800 and the other pulled out $2200. The $2200 got the keys and title, lol. I would have let it go for $1000, bought it for $800.
If too cheap, no one wants it. If too expensive, they feel they’re getting a deal when you barter down a few hundred dollars.

Now before anyone thinks I’m a douche, I’ve given away way more than I’ve taken money for. I’ve found in my older years, giving brings more satisfaction than receiving, even when it comes to money and valuables.

You absolutely did the right thing by keeping your word. No doubt whatsoever. There are things in life far more valuable than the highest bidder, and that's one of 'em.

Always a man of my word, that being said I would have easily given you the $1000 those roof leaks are pretty simple. You ever end up in that position let me know I'd be happy to help!

I was thinking you were going to say you got scammed. I have an old boat, motor, trailer for sale. Haven't posted it to Craigslist yet. But wasn't even on marketplace 10 minutes and I had a scammer saying I will buy it. Paying cash.
So you did want you said you were going to. Be happy say goodbye to the rig.

Travel trailers, RV's, four wheelers, etc. are HOT items right now, and have been for months. Should have listed it for $1500.
Maybe stuff like that isn't selling like crazy back there, but it's nuts on the west coast.
