I've just been tasked with trapping weasels in a 60 acre rabbit enclosure. Weasels arent really that common around here, I think personally I've only seen one live long-tailed weasel. Seen numerous least weasels killed by cats. Head of the club said members have seen multiple weasels inside the enclosures during a trial hunt.

Meeting tomorrow to look at the place. I have an idea on what I want to do to catch these things but no idea on if Ill be able to do them due to possible constraints. Anyone here done something similar at this scale for weasels? Think ill be building a lot of wire cubbies or converting some of my colony traps into same in the next few days.

Wonder if the club members know the difference between weasel and mink?

Hard to tell. They said they did catch one in a rabbit box trap. Said it was a tan-ish color but the guys I talked to personally didnt see it and only got a grainy video, hopefully they have it for me tomorrow.: The only live long-tail I saw was only a few miles as the crow flies from this property.

A baited cubby with a snap type rat trap would be my go to. I don't see a bunny or dog getting hurt with one.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I think you can use a tiny coils spring in a cubby, but I know close to nothing about them.

Act like a blank, get treated like a blank. Insert your own blank!
