That was a good game.

Been kicking myself since Sunday. I meant to put a wager on the Phillies at the start of the playoffs. I just didn't have time to go to a casino to place the bet. At that time the Phillies had a 250 to 1 or 500 to 1 odds.

After the third inning I was thinking maybe I could go to bed early as the Phillies were losing and Verlander looked unhittable. But one thing I learned about this Phillie team reminds me of a quote by Yogi Berra. Verlander quite often seems to have a bad inning with several outstanding innings. Once one loses the edge the other team gains confidence and the predator mindset takes hold. Baseball in many ways is a game of inches or even fractions of inches, especially for pitching and hitting. Command is huge even with very good stuff.
