Weather has been really warm this fall, waiting for some cooler temps and beaver season to get here.
So I decided to throw some agate rough in a tumbler about 5 weeks ago.
Just finished the 500 grit pre-polish stage and washed them up and put them in the 1000 grit aluminum oxide polish for a few days to finish them off.
There are going to be some cool looking ones it looks like.
If you like that sort of stuff.

We have the red superior agates here and I pick up every one I see. I never had the patience to run a tumbler,so never bought one. My wife did wire wrapping for a while and I almost bought a cabar machine. But it was just easier and less expensive for her to buy cabs from others that she liked.
You got some pretty one in there, I like the purple.

Very cool. I was in DC at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum over the weekend and admiring many of the the different agates from around the world. Amazing formations. Can’t wait to see yours after a final polish. They look awesome now.

Thanks, it's fun to see all the things that were not visible until they are ground down and smoothed up some.
