I was at the water station getting water and A foreign woman was filling BIG jugs...looked like 4 gallon jugs . I was sitting in car waiting my turn when she came out with one....She looked like it was too much so i jumped out and asked her if she needed help. She replied something I didnt understand but i got the head nod. I brought the other one to her car and she did Say thank You. When I went inside to fill mine the attendant in office came out and said that was very nice of you. Thank You. While a guy probably around my age just stood looking grumpy. What happened to Chivalry and trying to help women.???

In today's society people are all about themselves a lot of the time and don't have the time or moral upbringing to take time to help someone out. It really makes me wonder when I see people walking past an elderly person and not even offer to help out if needed. Just drive through a parking lot and see how people act at a crosswalk erks me. I was raised to respect my parents and elders and always help them when needed and ask nothing in return and feel very fulfilled in doing so. Always help out with neabours and don't expect anything in return.

Really nice gesture on your part- you should help even if she has small jugs.
Good Deed

Steve, Good Job! Around here, I get weird looks from young ladies when I hold the door for them. But the older folks know about manners and thank me when I do it. Sign of the times.

I have held the door open for a few younger ladies only to get a turned up nose look as if I'm trying to seduce them or something. Now days I don't dare call a young lady miss or mam or I get a royal butt chewing! Once while placing my order at a drive through the young lady repeated my order and asked if that was correct. Out of courtesy I replied "yes mam" only to have her come half way out the window screaming 'I AM NOT A MAM!!". I should have gone it and talked to the manager but instead drove off without my order. I'm afraid it's not going to get any better.

I hold the door for all, young, old, even men. I think I just about always get a smile and a thank you, especially from the young women, lol.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

If I am in the store shopping and someone needs a hand to get something, I step and help.

Paying it forward. Even women struggling with big Jugs!

She didn't want to cross smile

Unfortunately the younger generation has lost manners and ethics. I help anyone that needs it including giving up my seat. Big jugs always get my attention.

I was at the ATM this morning to get some cash. A little old lady behind me ask if I could check her balance. I thought it was an odd request but I like to help out when I can. Long story short, it wasn't good. I gave her a shove and she fell right over.

Eh...wot?
