Been having a lot of mobility/ pain issues lately.
Cancelled my trapping/ fall turkey trip couple weeks back, figured I couldn't handle mountains.

Had second thoughts about deer hunting yesterday evening, but here, Nov 9-14 has always been GOOD to us.
Plus, yesterday morning, saw where our 3D archery deer had been molested the night before.

So headed out at 330.

Had a spike hanging out around 40 yards, had every intention of shooting him.
But never got closer.
430, see buck coming down field edge behind me.
Get twisted around, tried to stop him in an opening.
He took a few more steps, and stopped in brush.
Twisted around some more and let one fly.

Found him 45 minutes later, 150 yds away in a BAD thicket, down across a ravine.

Luckily, one son and wife were home, so we got him out.
Eventually.
Funny thing, fox or coyote was on him THAT quick.

And thank you for taking out the weirdo buck that molests decoys.
Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

If you wait two hours to retrieve one here, it might be nothing but a skeleton

I hear ya DaveP. When i get a deer i take 2 tylenol before i gut it and begin to drag it out. I feel this helps my body handle the drag better

LOL, Plan B was to.part it out where it fell.
Did that with a moose on a DIY hunt.

Still, they were lifesavers.
