I'm in need of a pair and am getting tired of replacing them every year or so.

Up front, I hate waders in the heat.

Considering these from Dans

But don't know anything of the boots other than they are neoprene and I don't trust neoprene anything not to leak. I prefer lacrosse grange. But if Dans is using the old wicks material and building to wicks standards the tops should be fine though I'd rather have the old wicks brown than camo.

Can anyone opine on these or whether other similar options exist? Custom maker?

Which model? They seem to make all types from stocking foot breathable to full on insulated duck waders.

If your ordering Dans - Be prepared to wait a month or two to get them.

Simms - Boot Footed G3's are what I like the best. Grip on boots is not as good as I wouild like in some clay/steep/slippery banks.

And they are sure to start leaking anytime after you take them out of the box, my experience at least. Sooner rather than later.....

They think highly of those simms, don't they.

That's another nope. Breathable to me means first barbed wire fence eats it.

Simms g-4 are the best wader currently on the market.

Unfortunately they are hard too get at the moment. That hopefully changes soon

Bootfoot is great for extremely cold weather, but not good if you’re doing a lot of hiking/walking

Personally, I’m in simms waders 275/300 days/year. Fishing/trapping/hunting/guiding/working on the coast

Barbwire isn’t a problem if your agile,,,,I foot trap coyotes wearing simms breathable waders

Rumour is “Grundens”(the commercial fishing people) is going too get into the wader market

That would be great!!!

Just wanted too add

Simms stocking foot waders in conjunction with “Korkers” interchangeable soles allows you too change out the sole for whatever situation

Ice-mud-rock-etc

It’s just a great combination!!

Both are made in USA I believe

Go with the Dan's. Dan use to make bib waders. They were their Frogger bibs. The wader part came to just above your belt line. They were great for hot weather. I have had three of those kind and still using one pair.
I got a pair of their chest waders like the ones you posted a picture of and there just as tough as the bib type.
I beaver trap year around and the Dan's are the toughest waders I have ever owned.
If you order the waders from Dan's call to order them. They have several sizes for leg length (Crotch) Unless you have really long legs order the shortest crotch length. I have one of the original pair and that measurement was not an option. The crotch hangs low. If you are doing a lot of walking, or stepping over logs it will be difficult.
I will order another pair with a short crotch length.
I have been through Green Brier, catclaws, devil walking stick, hawthorn, barb wire, and switch cane beaver had made pungy sticks out of. No leaks. I did have a pungy stick go through my boot. Aqua seal + does the trick. In fact when I get a new pair I take aqua seal plus and run a bead on all the seams. I don't think its necessary but it don't hurt to add it.
They are uninsulated. You can separate the liner from the outside material and wash the outer part. I wear waders at least 300 days a year and the Dan's hold up to my abuse.
