My favorite rifle is a Ruger 44 carbine. I have two of them. One early one with a tube magazine, and another later model with the box magazine.
Light to carry, fun to shoot, and puts deer and hogs in a pile right there. I have a red dot on one, and a 1-4 power Leupold on the other.
Running shots are a breeze.

this might sound strange but I really like my Mossberg 500 , it is a plane as it gets gun but I make it mine with a Morgan pad and a 20 inch vent rib barrel a bit of grip tape and an over size metal safety.
it is light it carries easy and I shoot it fast
took 2 birds the other day about as fast as you could imagine pump could run
my son and friend though I was taking a second shot on the one bird and I had them both down both head and neck shot

lots of things are mechanically sound , fit makes things work for the person.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Remington Model 700 classic in 8mm Rem Mag. I purchased it new in 1998. I immediately installed an HS Precision stock on it. It has accounted for many whitetails, wild boar, a few black bear, a Maine moose, Colorado Elk, Quebec Caribou, and Custer Buffalo. It has performed flawless and hits like Thor’s hammer. I own several versions of the Model 700 8mm Rem Mag rifles including my dads 1977 early production BDL and a couple Remington custom shop guns, but I keep going back to the classic.

1970's 700 BDL 30-06, early 1950's Remington 870 16 gauge pump that my dad purchased after he returned from Korean war and a Marlin Model 25 bolt action .22 that my dad gave to me when I turned 12. Have plenty of other guns of various calibers but those three are my favorites!

Remington R15 in .450 Bushmaster. Killed quite a few deer with it but now relegated to a thermal hog rifle. Have probably taken close to 1000 hogs with it. Killed 146 in a six month period with it a few years back.

1985 Remington 1100, got engaged to my wife and bought this gun the next day, figured it would be one less argument entering marriage. I turned it into a slug gun some years later.
Then Ohio went to straight walls and I bought a Ruger 450 bushmaster so this gun sees next to no woods now. I put gun chaps on it from day one so the wood is in great shape for
what its been through. Been a solid gun for me.

A 1943 mauser made P08 luger. Not all matching, not mint but in excellent shooter grade condition. And shoot it did, ran like a top.

But in typical country song ending I lost it in a divorce.
