Here is one more way to think about guns you wish you had purchased .What is the best gun you never had ?Something you really wish you had bought but for some reason never made the deal on . I had a 20 Ruger Red label and wanted a 28 gauge Red Label also . And I also wanted a Ruger M77 in .284 caliber .That has not happened either .But the one I just can't get out of my head is a Weatherby Mark 5 in .257 Weatherby Mag in a left handed bolt action .In the early 1980's I saw one advertised for sale in the local paper .I was always a fan of the .257 caliber and in fact at the time had a M77 in25.06And being a lefty knew about the only way to get a left handed bolt action was to order it new .This 257 Weatherby for sale in the paper really got my attention .At the time I was making car payments and trying to save money for a down payment for a house .So it did not fit the budget .But 40 years have gone by and I am still kicking myself in the butt for not buying that gun .Anyone else out here that has a similar story on the one that got away or was put on the back burner a long time ago But still makes you regret not deciding to buy it back when ?

In this cast they will always be the best you can dream up. Becuse you didn't get the chance to use them and discover they didn't feed well or shot poorly.

Before I knew what they were Academy has some Swiss strait pull rifles for a good price. But I had hot heart of that 7.5 cal at that time so I passed. Now those k 31s are in the $700 range and I know what they are and they are what my uncles bayonet go to. He was Swiss and it's the rifle he was issued in his youth. I have his bayonet and need a rifle for it.

I think something in 50 BMG would be fun.

there is nothing so spectacular a performer that I feel like I missed it

there are some things that were at a heck of a good price that are not now.

mostly I wish I had bought a LOT more ammo , powder , primers , projectiles.

MP5. Always liked that gun.

Reason why I never bought one? Never had the $25,000 to spare on a good one. Can’t hunt with it, and there are other weapons that would be better for home defense.

Still, who wouldn’t want one?

I had an older friend that collected Model 12's He only had one in a 28 gauge The Model 12 was an awesome gun . He was mainly a waterfowl hunter and used a 12 GA Model 12 to hunt geese and ducks over decoys That was before the days of steel shot . it served him well Never had one either but I sure did like them.

Perazzi Mirage, as sexy a gun as I have ever had the privlage of holding. I collect Model 12's and I do have a 28 ga solid rib skeet. It is as new in the box with the hang tags and the original bill of sale. It has never been assembled. Once or twice a year I take it out of the safe, give it a wipe down, wrap it back up, in the box, and back in the safe. Someday maybe I'll break down and shoot it. Then again maybe not. I'll leave it up to my son. Model 12's are as exotic as I'm going at my age.

I refurbished a remington hepburm #3 in 45-70. Restocked it, re-blued it, fixed some internals. Gun was so smooth and pretty. Had killed buffalo 100 yrs ago. Things didnt work out between the girl and I and her father kept it. Didnt want to sell it. He didnt know what he had. That thing still keeps me up at night

I would love a mini 30.

Other choice would be have my old side by side .410 fox stevens back. That was my favorite pheasant and quail gun when I was growing up. Heck I used it for everything. Rabbits, squirrels, even got a coyote with it at about 15 paces. Someday I hope to find another one.

I just shot a little buck with my Tikka in 6.5 Swede Thursday. I have a Remington 700 Classic in 6.5 Swede that is unfired too.

My Unicorn is a 6 inch stainless Colt Anaconda in 45 LC.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Two guns I could find, but ill pay twice as what I would have are a Ruger Red Label 12 gauge and the older Winchester 1300 NWTF with the laminated stock. Prices are stupid now, but I continue to check pawn shops and gun stores.
