if you find a much more common 1300 and send the barrel off too be cut and threaded and order a laminated stock from boyd's. if you can't find it you can often build it.

I got a Daisy BB gun that was by my side from 7 years old until I was old enough to own a Remington Model 552 .22. I had more fun with those two guns than all the guns I now own (which is a lot) combined. I'm sure I also have 10 times more kills with those two guns than all the rest combined as well.

Rusty, just picked one up. A trap with a monti-carlo stock and an Imod barrel. It's a gun I sold to one of my sons buddies 14 or 15 years ago for $800. He needed some cash so I gave him $825 so he could say he made money on the deal. Don't know why I sold it in the first place. I shot my best scores with it back when I was shooting NSCA registered sporting targets. Real happy it's back home. Right now I'm on the hunt for a real pretty skeet.

Back in the late 80’s there was a Remington model 11 in excellent condition hanging on the wall of Ace Sporting Goods in Washington Pa. every time we visited the shop I marveled over it and it was there for several years. Once I graduated high school and was gainfully employed I went there to buy it and it was gone. Many years later I was able to acquire a model 11 in both 12 and 20 gauges from a friends estate but neither were in the great condition of the one I marveled over at Ace Sporting Goods for years.

maybe a comprimize , send it down to LA and get it Laser engraved by airporttrapper

I guess it is about looks and function , I was thinking mostly function

I paid as much for the 20 inch barrel for my 500 as I did for the gun years ago but it was about half the price of buying one new that way.

Reason why I never bought one? Never had the $25,000 to spare on a good one. Can’t hunt with it, and there are other weapons that would be better for home defense.

Still, who wouldn’t want one?

H&K MP5 is a fav of mine too. I've shot a fair amount of full-autos , but the MP5 is very controllable. More rounds on target.

Hk mark 23 is very accurate and nice to shoot. But $2,300 for a handgun is to rich for me. But it sure was smooth and easy to hit with. Of course suppressed is best.

But I bet the cz shadow in 9mm is probably as nice to shoot but much less expensive for the blue handled model around $1300. But that's not practical for me for a handgun that will be to big to carry except in winter.

As a boy, I dreamed of having a Gibbs company SMLE scout rifle, and a Browning HI Power. That dream is about to come true. My brother gave me a Bubba'd SMLE NO 4 a few years ago he'd gotten in a trade, I took it to a gunsmith in Florida the last time I was down there with instructions to cut the barrel down to 20 inches, fabricate a scout scope rail, and get a nice stock on it... it's waiting on me when i go on my next visit to Florida next year. Thinking about buying a Girsan copy of a HiPower to go with it, then I can be equipped for any adventure I dreamed of as a boy, only I'm 36 now.

Being a hardcore waterfowl hunter, I wanted an old Browning A-5 in 3” magnum with a 30” full choke barrel.
I wanted to be able to hunt waterfowl with my Remington auto loader magnum with 30” full choke barrel, and a Winchester Model 12 heavy duck gun with a 30” full choke barrel, and the Browning. I had the first two and wanted the Browning.

Those guns look so good in waterfowl hunting photos with black labs. I became more intensely focused on the black labs and was completely happy with my Remingtons, and the Model 12 came out on special occasions. Being completely satisfied, I never looked for an A-5.

I am looking for a Ruger No. 1 in .45-70.

As you can tell there are many good answers given here . I am not necessarily a huge fan of Weatherby Yes I believe they have produced some very good guns And the more expensive ones are great looking guns .However there are lots of great shooting guns that are just plain looking Price and appearance do not mean they are better or worse .And I am left handed I have been hunting with a right handed bolt action rifle since the late 1970's I have owned a couple different ones all right handed .It may slow me down some if I need to shoot more than one time But there has not been one time that I failed to kill a deer that I shot at because I was unable to shot at it enough times . So for me the location of the safety is very important . And getting the deer in the scope is also extremely important .I have no complaints about the rifles I used through out my years of hunting .But I still can not get the one that got away out of my head .I had the money that I could have bought it and not missed a beat .Yet somehow I was penny wise and pound foolish on what was a great opportunity for me to go for .Thanks to everyone that posted .I as least now there are others that have been doing their owe kick in the butt routine just like me .OH WELL THEY SAY IT IS OK TO MAKE A MISTAKE AS LONG AS YOU LEARN FROM IT I think I did because after that I tried to buy a gun that I wanted if for no other reason than because I wanted it .

For me it's a Savage 99 in a 250-3000.
