How many beavers do you think live there?

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I assume that's the feed bed out front. Hard to tell but is the house on land?

The ice is about an inch thick-but open someplaces and thin in others from the beaver activity.
Not safe to venture out on ice this time of year.
I will get some better pics when I go back out in a few days.

Heres one of the sets.

Yes I was referring to the sticks in the middle of the pond as the feed bed. Not a real huge feed bed. Hard to tell from picture how big the house is. Beaver house size can be deceiving as to the # of beaver in there. Depends on how busy the beavers were. laugh

Those sticks in the pond is dead brush.cant see any feed bed, just the top couple feet of the house over top of the brush. The dead brush is about 6 or 7 foot above the ice,and the point of the house is about 2 feet above the top of the brush.
I will walk in the bush along the pond to get a closer pic next time I go out.The pic is from the dam.

You are setting on the dam to try and avoid the young or is just easier to get to? Smart beaver build their houses in tough to get to spots. If you can get more ice you may have better access to the house but it is not going to be easy to get them. Maybe some under ice bait sets.

Feed beds are usually out in front of the hut
