Several years ago following an overnight dusting of snow .I decided to take the dogs out to do some late season or early next season scouting On arrival at my location I left the dogs out and started walking back the field road .About 75 yards into a our intended hike a buck and doe flushed from their hiding spot A thick over grown patch of weeds within a short distance from the horse barn . They bound over the hill ,jumped a fence and cross the pasture and jumped another fence . About the time they where clearing the second fence another noisy exit on the hillside was underway .A second buck left his spot in a hurry and took a similar route as the other deer did .I was carrying a small digital camera in my hand and raised it and began pushing the button to take pictures .He was gone quickly and we moved on to se what might be seen that day .I quickly glance at the memory card to check the pictures and did not see anything of note later that day About a week later I again looked at the pictures from the morning scouting hike .It was then that I saw the deer had all 4 of his feet off the ground .I thought that was pretty lucky to capture him flying .Than I scrolled around the rest of the picture and noticed Tillie was leaping into the sky to follow that deer Her feet appear to be off the ground and her ears are flapping like bird wings to gain altitude to catch that deer [Linked Image]

The farm buildings are behind the deer. They left us walk by and than went looking for some other hide out .It is very normal in this area o the der to move in tight against the farm buildings when deer season is going on .In south central PA a group of 8 to 10deer will take cover almost daily in a patch of weeds that I WOULD NOT CONDIDER BIG ENOUGH TO HOLD A RABBIT .If you know the area a the habits of the deer it can be a way to use those patterns to be able to get a deer that otherwise would be almost unhunt able .In this case I was not hunting because the deer season had ended about 2 weeks earlier. However in hunting season we often attempt to cover the back door exit plans as much as possible ,I have added another pic so you can see the many small pockets of cover for them to lay low and leave after you pass throug [Linked Image]

There are many on this site that are experts with a camera .and all that is part of taking good quality photos I am just someone that has a camera and loves to be in the woods .I never take a picture that is as nice as what I see. But I am proud of this one even if it was just luck.

Just keep taking pictures is all you can do. I've taken 100s over the years. Is funny how other people think some are really good. Yet to me they never look like what I was seeing. Nature can change lighting in seconds it seems and the best image is just for my eyes it seems.
I think your picture pretty cool.
Carry on.
