Anyone ever saved any? One of the last beavers I caught had a pint or so of urine in the bladder that I saved. I froze it for a couple months until I needed room in the freezer. I took it out and moved it into bottles. Some straight, some mixed with other stuff. Out of curiosity, i went into the shed today and started smelling lures and concoctions. I came across a mixture of beaver urine and fox urine. Opened it up, and was pretty shocked at the smell. Instead of a strong urine smell like I expected, I mostly smelled castor. Not overpowering, but not that faint either. I smelled the straight beaver urine bottle and it was the same, only a little heavier on the castor. When I bottled it originally, there was no castor smell.

I’ll put some in front of a camera soon, but was interested in the smell and curious if/how anyone else liked to use it

Beavers mix their castor with urine. That’s how they distribute it. Beaver urine will almost always smell like castor to some degree. I’ve never considered taking beaver urine straight.

I once experimented mixing beaver urine with castor as a lure for beaver but the results were not what I'd hoped..

I too have captured beaver urine and was wondering the same thing. I have been letting them do whatever it is they do in glass pepper jars for over a year at this point. Maybe i'll take some out with me tomorrow and report back on the results. I also got some otter urine too!
