I came across this poem I wrote back in 1981. Reading it again, made me feel good and thought it might lift some, that need a lift, so they could stand straight and tall.

==================
THE DAY THAT CHRIST RETURNED
Let all of you who have sinned,
Gather on my right.
Let all of you who are strong of body and limb,
Prepare yourself to fight.
Let all of you who are strong of mind,
Gather at my left side.
Let all of you that know you've wronged,
Come out from where you hide.
When Christ had gathered all the righteous,
At least those that did proclaim.
There was one remaining,
One that couldn't face the shame.
The one who had stood his ground,
Knew he couldn't pass the test.
He felt he shouldn't be included,
With all of the rest.
When Christ asked him, why he stood alone,
And hadn't joined the throng.
He said, My Christ, my back is weak,
my legs are numb,
And my arms aren't very strong.
I'm stuck is this wheel chair,
And my mind isn't very bright.
I know in my heart that I have sinned,
So, I can't stand on your right.
What do you feel, said Christ to him,
That has kept you alive?
He said, My Lord, it's faith and hope,
That has helped me to survive.
I feel that my outward afflictions,
Do not affect what's inside.
My life is pure emotion,
With nothing possible to hide.
Christ reached out and took his hand,
And the lad stood straight and tall.
His faith and hope and serenity,
Had made it worth it all.
Christ returned to Heaven that day.
With only a chosen few.
The lad was at His right hand,
To begin a life anew.
To Christ it makes no difference,
Of strength of limb or mind.
Only if you reach out,
And to everyone be kind.
