We have skim ice on all our ponds and with no wind today there will be ice forming on the bigger lakes. And still you are never completely ready for the next season when that starts. The lake we were on is pretty much a last 1/2 hour of light bite, we put 7 on the ice in about 15 minutes that one being the biggest. You wont see me driving on the ice this coming weekend but I bet there will be 1/2 tons driving on it somewhere.....someone has to be first..lol Pure Blood

The lake I fished was fished by a buddy of mine last Thursday, he report between 5 and 7" of ice. I fished it on Sunday with 12+ inches of ice, couple subzero nights can put inches on in short order. We still have one more week of muzzleloader season here then I will get the tip ups out and start changing leads and sharpening hooks .... Can usually ice fish well into march up here ....
