Does anyone know where to find information on the softcatch longsprings. I'd like to know what sizes they made and how long they were in production.

Interesting. I wasn’t aware that Victor ever made Softcatch longspring traps.

I hope one of the experts on here - maybe snakecollector - enlightens us.

The only Soft Catch Victor long springs that I know of were made by Bryan Butera, Oneida Victor Inc., Ohio. He bought the rights to the names, Oneida, Victor and Newhouse after 1999.


Animal Trap Company, Woodstream Corp. did make some experimental rubber jaw longspring Victor traps in the 1980s but they were not put into production that I know of.

Pan is a little hard to read with the surface rust

These were "ordered from Victor" by Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. All I was told, got them on an auction. Had never seen any before.

I heard sometime ago about a otter relocation project,taking otters from Louisiana and stocking other states.I wonder if the No.11's were part of that project

Onida Victor makes a #1 Coil Rubber Jaw. Do you think someone could have put #1 Coil Rubber jaws on a Long Spring #11 or #1 base? Does that pan one the #11 read "11 Soft Catch".?

It doesnt work great, I bought every combo of jaws to try this and they just dont really work. The only #11 Pan that they have made in anytime says Newhouse, but maybe there is a soft catch pan out there for #1.
