One of the most riveting and disheartening lectures I heard while in studies in Dallas was from a women who oversees post abortion grief clinics in Texas. Her stats were how 1 in 3 women will have an abortion by age 45 and that there are tens of millions of men and women who are struggled and even stricken with grief, shame, depression, and repressed memories over their decision to end a human life. It doesn't matter what people think and do, and most do what they think is "best" but no person is equipped mentally to end a human life. In those moments, when all is quiet, and thoughts of those things in life that are meaningful creep into our minds, the aborting of babies by mothers and fathers has been the single worst human endeavor for the lives of people in our land.
I remember the lady saying that in all her years of experience, the louder a person screams for pro-abortion, the higher the probability that person is actually suffering deep down inside.
We don't talk about grief, shame, depression or repressed memories much these days unless it's a post on Facebook to get people to "like" this, that. or some other.
And since grief, shame, depression and repressed memories are known pathways to anger and bitterness on one end and suicidal ideation on the other... it'd be better if people like the woman (I don't recall her name) had more help, rather than paraders of flags and posters.
Blessings,
Mark
