Anyone ever have them fail and break, if so how?

Save the land, resist against developers!!! We don't need more houses. I've lost too much trapping land to new housing developments.

Had coyotes crunch them shut in the middle and limit how well the J hooks swiveled, but they did not fail per se.

Anyone ever have them fail and break, if so how? Which ones? The bent strap type or the solid type.

330, you using those on what traps? #15 duke?
Those are huge. They are what I call "Stout" or fail-safe. No sense in using gear that might or might not work I have them set up (3 swivels each ) on 10' Wolf chain /Drags, and MB750 Wolfers. I only got to try once for Wolf and then - Poof...No more Season. So I have a Dozen loose ones I keep around for when the Time appears right. *the best part of them are the Circular hooks instead of being small and oval.

I make mine out of Cold Rolled Steel. I cut 1 inch tubes into 1 inch long and then drill them and insert the ends in and crimp shut. I have never had a coyote crunch them. Up in Wisconsin I had one destroyed but I think it was a wolf.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

I used the square one called Welby's I believe it was? I like how stream lined they were went I was using 1 1/2 coils for fox. Once coyotes showed up in numbers. The 1 1/2s went in coon line and the swivels all changed out to crunch proof. Can't say ever had any fail.

I thought you might be speaking of those. I've got some and like them though I use them mostly on my conibears or smaller stuff. I believe they would hold up to coyotes but the smaller size of the opening has me concerned that they'll pack up with mud or grass and lock up. I do like the small size. I normally go big or go ( CRUNCH Proof) but was curious about the Box ones
