If you cannot be aware of what is happening and able to discuss it without gloom, despair and misery gripping you then you might just have bigger issues to address. Jmo, no offense meant to anyone...

What have the discussions done to eliminate the gloom, despair, and misery?

The discussions have done the same thing all discussions do. They can raise awareness and that is a good start. Personally I believe we are past the point of changing what is happening.

I'm pretty prudent with my vote. If I am aware of political on goings that weigh counter to my thinking,..well then I dismiss them.
I put faith in my observations and vote accordingly.

Apathy has brought us to the edge of the abyss, now people want to knock folks for talking about where we are at. Up is down...what a mess.

I look at things from a biblical perspective, Marty. One pastor I was listening to said God's judgment isn't coming, it's already here. Just waiting for the hammer to drop. Half of Biden's cabinet were plucked straight out of Sodom.

You'll live longer and be much happier if you can avoid worry over things you have no control over. Nothing wrong with being happy even if there are bad things out there if there is nothing you can do about it anyway.

Imagine if you will, a war in which half the country dont believe we are at war, and mock those that do. And are on the side of the enemy.

Thinking and talking about what is happening does not equate to unhappiness if you have control of your emotions.

Recognizing a problem and attempting to fix such is not a fools attempt.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

It does not say make me oblivious to bad things so I can be happy always.

I am glad the founding fathers choose to worry. Took on the worlds largest army with militia/newly formed army and won our freedom. They valued freedom and God over everything else.
