Thanks guys. I have = More time and often = better signal here in West Texas. I cant get = or havent yet. It not getting light enough to see till = 745 am ! LoL ! Both ranches = I am following = great older Texas trapper that have retired. So the coyotes? Want be a whole lot of pics im afraid! But. I will have LOTS of time on my hands. Plus I really like it here in West Texas ! Everyone is great that you meet ! Its like = time and people move at a slower OR less hurried pace !

Looks like mine. Get a receiver hitch on the front and put a cargo carrier on. It helps a bunch with carrying capacity.

Thanks for posting pics of the sets in Rocky ground. I deal with a lot of gravel roads that have sign on them but can be difficult to put in a set.

Very nice sets steel as always! I love them rocky road side sets they just produce and are worth the work out digging the beds!

Are you just using the cow rib to blend or are you sifting some over the pattern too? Anyhow, it's a nice, blended set.

May have asked before, but why bury the drag? Thought the whole purpose of the drag was not to have to dig. If I can dig I’ll put in an earth anchor.

Silky. I am using = Cows rib. To press down the = little rocks. And break up the dirt clod pebbles. Then I = duff with wisk broom or hand

OK Wannabe. Land manager ask or told us = Family wants to see 0 coyotes bouncing on roads ! So everything is drags. I have Blue Lacey dog with me now. So no worries on = finding the animal quickly. Plus. Last trapper. Was well know. He basically retired. I will say this = HE DID A GREAT job clean up coyotes!!!! So time ? Its not a factor so why not bury???? The = Hook to the tree or bush ? Well thats not for me . Educated coyotes. So we ONLY make clean Flat Sets. And drags ? Long term ? Once you get over = price shock of new? The they will last forever. Its like a = investment. No more cable stakes or bullet stakes. Just bury them drags and 8 or 10 ft chain!!! LoL!

I overthink things, at times, but tend to slash and cut down to much simpler.

The Spanish help here is good!!! They will kill a coyote for you = take it out of traps. AND bring you trap with drag on it!! They will also hand bobcats and coyotes on fences foe you.

Thanks. Longbeard 12. I know how that is. Been super busy myself. Owners moving in cattle. Setting up new locations. Scouting new locations. And had a Rancher and his son I do work for over for last 3 days. Killed a few called up coyotes. An trapped afew coyotes and bobcats

Do you bury in that Alabama clay? That’s the only reason I got a dozen made up, for that Summer time clay trapping.

Wanna Be Their have been a few times. That I have = hooked to tree or just throw drag and chain in bushes. BUT I dont like doing that. And ONLY as a last resort. I have all the time in thw world here. I can work 2 BIG ranches from now on. AND. Have picked up 1 more small 25000 acre place just this. Week. So for me to NOT bury drag??? Just seams unprofessional! I want ALL the land me and my partner can handle. I HOPE with in a year. We are having to = interview and hire new = young trappers to help us run lines

Last 3 days Been walking!! Down to 208 lbs !!!! Not 2 years ago. Hit 255 on scales. Walking = helps my back. And with less weight it has to be better on my knees !!!’n

Doing deprivation work. Not fur. No restrictions No license needed. Not keeping fur EVER. I just do deprivation work. Kill whatever is needed for ranchers. Texas is year round on cats. LOTS of = Predator Calling Contests in West Texas ! VERY few bobcats left here

Yep! They = stretch coyotes and hogs out the same way. Work well together. OFTEN used or call on to be used by USDA or private county programs to help with = Flying Helocopters on coyotes. Educated coyotes often = hole up. Very hard to kill when = government has over flown helicopters. Then the dogs are sent into flush out coyotes

1 coyote. 1 hog 1 busted tire ! Sometimes West Texas is ruff on a man ! LoL!

Tire big hole. Leaking air fast ! Tried = 3 plugs together. No Go. Had to be patched. Put on spare ? O no ! I have TRD black 17 inch wheels. Special lugnuts. Well they dont fit well on spare. No inset. So only bout 1/4 inch of thread I can tighten down. Drove 45 mph for bout 17 miles to get tire patched

Have a friend. Getting the tires I ordered lined up. Things DO move slowly in West Texas. But thats OK ! Will try. To get tires put on. And borrow truck from friend and run some line on another ranch. That way I don’t lose a full day of work

15 miles of riding on Can Am checking and reluring sets. First set of coyote tracks after rain !!! Its rocky. So 21 ft chain and MJ 600 Sterling! LoL!

Ha! I've done that a few times when setting traps in open ground without much for them to hang up on, added an extra length of chain to give them 20+ feet.

Checking a few traps as well. Just relured this 1. Had a set go 26 days before catch here. Over the fence. Next property is a = USDA government guy. Recommend by = Ogorman himself ! So we have this place pretty clean. We just spoke. I replaced 1 of his snares on a shared fence. He thanked me for that. Told him = Thats what we are spose to do. He each other and KILL all the coyotes! LoL! Talked about = up coming denning time. Cant wait. Never got to do no denning in Alabama

Be cheaper to just = get out and open gate. Only have 2 bump gates on 25000 acres. LoL ! This place. Runs really fast. Bout 4 dz snares its been trapped year round for years. Trapper on next property snares coyotes too! Its pretty clean. Maybe 5 gates total to open. And O doubling back. Can run in 4 hrs if I get after it

The area I trapped there were so many I made a bush bar to open them.

I can see where. A bump gate would be handy. Most of the ranch trucks. Are full sized and have a few dents. One was kicked by cow the otherday ! LoL!

Well. Guess. I am here to stay in West Texas. Have partnered up with a well know trapper from West Texas. We just hired out FIRST employee. Older trapper. But. I have been on line with him. I like him. This will allow us to cover more ranches. AND now. I can run something different each day !!!!!
