I moved back in with my folks for a while due to catching my wife stepping outside of our marriage. They have been very generous and understanding during the most difficult time of my life. That being said, my "retired" dad has been working my behind off!! I forgot how hard life on a farm is. Cutting, raking, bailing, stacking hay. Cutting out cattle to different pastures. Fixing the seeder and tractor forks. He just had me swinging a sledge at a beam while up on a ladder and I bout died. He's never been a man of many words or emotions, but I think he's trying to help me keep my mind off of things. Wish me luck y'all.

Keep going, also it’s amazing how many things need fixed when the kids home, but it was okay when it was only him, I’ve been down that road.

Sorry to hear about your wife. Keeping busy should keep you out of trouble and like someone else said you won't need to pay for a gym membership to get buff for when you're ready to date again. Women love well muscled farm boys.

Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

Not joking at all, his name is Bob and he lives in Iowa.

Wow that’s crazy ! But I’m sure Iowa is full of Bobs, coincidence I hope lol.

Jokes aside, my friend is going thru this currently. Been tough on an honest hard working guy. I hate seeing this happen. Keep your head up and don’t stall, keep moving. Things will work out, one way or another.

Please do not give up on your wife. Try to keep communication open and begin to inquire why she decided to do what she did. I would encourage you to pray often and get in Gods word and read how you are to treat your wife and even forgive her. I am in no way justifying any of her sinful actions - but please listen to her and try to understand her. As men, we generally are not excellent women listeners as we are pre-occupied with other tasks. Take this time and pursue her like you did before you married her. Keep God first. Even above your desires.....put Him first. I am praying for you and your wife for reconciliation.

TreedaBlackdog if he wants to try reconciliation with his wife that's fine, but from a Biblical aspect, cheating is the only condition that Jesus said was an acceptable reason for divorce. Matthew 5:31-32

I went through the same thing, including being back at my parents. Keep working hard, don't lose your temper and get through this as quickly as possible.

The day my divorce was final I felt like a anvil was lifted off me.

Good luck. If you ever just want to vent to someone who's been there done that feel free to message me.

We both live in Texas. She was a traveling nurse. I tried to talk to her about saving our marriage to no avail. We were divorced a day after our anniversary just a few days ago. I don't feel like an anvil was lifter, but another added on. I love her very much and I meant my vows.

Don't have any worthwhile advice except they are made everyday. Good to hear you're helping the old man out around the farm. I know when my kid come home because of a breakup and substance abuse reasons lots got done around the farm and trapline. I think it helped him at the time as well as helped me. Unfortunately he got back in the dope and was shown the door. Hope everything works out for you.

If I or the wife ever had or would cheat and opportunities existed, there was no second chance or reconciliation.
