Are these Crows or Ravens? I heard Ravens will flock when food is abundant or concentrated but not sure?
I also heard that Ravens have a high intellect and I noticed they were on my Bear Bait non-stop until the afternoon I was on stand- I would get an occasional stealthie fly-by but not one touched down.

It looks like both are present, lots more of them are crows and it looks like the ravens are not on the food but nearby.

Around these parts Ravens and crows don't typically mingle together. Of course, we don't have a large population of Ravens. Those birds look large to me and some look to have broad beaks, I am going with Ravens. If you have any audio on that video that could very well tell you your answer.

I think one walks and one hops. Is this correct?

We have a few ravens here and a lot of crows, I find it hard to tell who's what unless they're close to each other, and close to you. The ravens are bigger and a little coarser looking but then some crows are bigger then their pals, Tough call.

They look like crows to me.
I've been In raven country and I've never seen them group up like that.

I feed the crows during the winter, crows will both hop and walk.

Those are crows. I was using a cottontail distress call this morning right at daylight and called in about 30 of those things. When I can get someone to tag along we’re gonna have a serious crow shoot…when the season opens of course.

It’s hard to tell from the trail cam pictures. I tried to zoom in but the quality is not there. Could be either. I’m going to guess crows only because I’ve never seen that many ravens together whereas it’s common to see large groups of crows.

Ravens are common around my camp in North Central Pennsylvania, crows not so much.

The opposite is true around my home in southeastern Pennsylvania, crows are common. I have seen a few ravens beginning to filter into the area in the last few years but they are still very rare around here.

We have a nesting pair of raven on a barn near my house.
They have driven off the crow population, infact I have seen 1 raven take a crow midflight.
They are also very intolerant of other similar sized birds.
Now as a family unit of 6 adults and juvies, they rule the area.
Those in the picture look like crows due to size of body and shape of bill

Crows. Ravens have big, thick, massive beaks. And yes, ravens will flock to feed, I've seen over 20 on a bear carcass. They are smart too. I once had a gang of about 20 of them move a pallet off of a couple skinned-out beaver carcasses. I didn't witness them moving it, but it had to have been a group effort.

Almost need a close up photo to tell for sure.

Wife: That's the 4th time you've gone back for dessert, doesn't that embarrass you? Me: No, I keep telling them it's for you.

A lot of people think ravens are only scavangers.
Ravens are predators and kill stuff.
I have watched a raven kill and eat a sharptail grouse.
Cant say from the pic but ravens have much thicker beak and neck than a crow.

They are Crows. A Raven is almost twice the size of a crow and they can really make some Unique Sounds!!!
