I'm the $11.63 chicken buyer. I'm also the one that will pick up an item I want to buy, tote it around the store for an hour, then go put it back, and leave.....having talked myself out of buying it.

Real job money pays the bills. Fun job money I put in an envelope until I get the amount for what I want. I’m not an impulse shopper, I’ll research something for months and talk myself out of it most of the time. Things I really WANT I’ll buy. Things I “think” I want is 50/50 on whether I actually get it or not. I'm just like this too^^^^.....except I have a seperate bank account for my trapping business....it covers all my fuel and supply needs....and all those extra "toys" such a new rifle, thermal scope and hunting lease payment. Also, all the hunting trips are funded from that account. I never touch the home account.

did that 11.70 chicken start as a cast of thighs for 23.40 and it is in the bargain meat cooler because it didn't sell and the date on the package is today ?
cause I am a sucker for half price meat
which explains 4 freezers

Chicken? People actually buy that? I buy beef and ham. That is all a guy needs. No yard bird.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I buy marked down beef and some pork but typically pass on the chicken. I am a little more picky about chicken because often it was the way overpriced yuppie chicken and it only gets it down to the price of regular chicken.

Fried chicken, baked chicken, shake & bake chicken, chicken salad. Cheap way to feed 5 kids back then. We’d butcher 150 a year. I’ll still eat it, but only as a guest lol.

As a depression era kid he said there was always chicken to eat, and a lot of the time not much else.

Grew up well below middle income. Never knew it or thought about it until highschool. Was fortunate to be a good enough baseball and football player to not be made fun of for the off brand clothes and shoes.
Worked my way through college, got a great job and married my highschool sweetheart. Saved like I was still well below middle class. Put 2 out of my 3 boys through college so far, bought our dream property and built our dream house.
I still look at and spend every dollar like there aren’t many more to be had. I often wish I could let go and be a little more free in how I look at $$$, but I also know it’s served me and my family well.
Guess I’m the guy who puts down $11.63 for the $11.63 chicken and am x2 checking the receipt on the way out. That's a great story.

Jeepers,..for anyone that has sold many a chicken,.a full breasted corny cross is most likely to provide a family with at least maybe four meal within the course of a week. Chicken giving its full potential might just raise a few eyebrows! 4 meals? With our bunch growing up we would be fighting over the last leg let alone any leftovers. Lol

Neither! I rarely buy anything that's not marked down/on sale, but I always check the PER LB price, then look to see how big a bone, or how much fat it has.

I don’t think any of y’all are as cheap as my dad. He called one day and said I had to run to town, you wanna grab lunch? I said sure and he said meet me a Sam’s. Sam’s is like a Walmart except you have to be a member. Anyways I meet him there thinking he’s got some shopping to do and then we’ll go eat. Nope!! This man walks me around where they’re doing the cooking of a product for taste testing purposes. We walk around and visit everyone of those taste testing kiosks, lol. We get done and he says, if you got time they change out employees in 30min and we can make another round? Now who can top that, lol??? LOL, It's called the Senior Buffet! AND, Sam's Club and Walmart are the same Co. IE: Sam WALton. founded it.

LOL, that is cheap! he's my new hero!
Costco has the $1.50 hotdog with a soda , friend of mine takes his wife there for a fancy $3.00 dinner, lol Sam's Club has the same deal, but it comes WITH a free refill soda, So I always get a Vanilla ice cream cup with it, and make a root beer float. MMMMMM!
