I'd be getting rid of that little rascal. Unless he was drawing a gov check and you want to keep him alive so you can keep drawing his checks. If you are putting him in a freezer that has your food in it every package is going to stink on the outside at least. Shovel in your rose garden.
Oh, I may have mistaken what you was going to do with the carcass, sorry. As for the hide others on here know better than I.

You mean salt the rough skinned hide and freeze? My late caught beaver are just rough skinned, folded in half skin to skin, rolled and put in a little plastic garbage bag. 2 per bag with a zip tie through the nose. I hang ‘em up in the morning to thaw and flesh when fully unrolled. I’ll do the fleshing next fall.

I was just gonna dry salt him and send for taxidermy tan at moyle but I have to skin the feet out. I guess I can wash him in dawn and baking soda to get a little of the smell off him and get the salt out and then roll him up and freeze him. There isn’t hair slippage yet. What a mess!
