This is stupid. I need to service my 2018 3500 ram. If I buy oem part to do oil and fuel filter change it's $400.00 bucks. And I have to do the work. Dispose of the old oil ect
OR
I take it to town and let them do it with the same parts and oil for $250.00 plus they wash the windows and vacuum the truck. Something seems wrong here.

I can't hardly stand to pay someone to do something that I can do. But at the same time I'm not going to pay a extra $150.00 for the " privilege " to crawl under that thing either!

OEM parts a marked up a ridiculous amount just buy a good brand on sale and a quality filter for it. If they can do it for less they are cutting corners somewhere Iíd say.

Idk about where you are. But, my wife schedules an oil change, she drops her car off, gets a loaner and they call her when itís done. She goes back when she can later that day and gets it. Super easy.

That works if you're in the same town. I'm not so have to wait on mine while they change the oil. I've found if you're the first or near first appointment for the day you get in and out fairly quick. Otherwise you're gonna sit there for 2-3 hours.

Yeah, thatís a bunch of crap having to wait that long. She just has to drive to the dealership about 15 miles away and then come home, she can work remotely so she would just work from there. But yeah, I am not waiting that long.

I'm guessing it's a diesel that probably takes 15ish quarts of synthetic oil.

Dealers can do the oil change cheaper, because they buy oil in huge quantities, and they rely on upsells to make money as well from oil changes.

If it's a diesel.....does that price include fuel filters as well?

You can buy all that stuff plus an air filter at rock auto for under 200 bucks .

All mid grade to premium grade too , not the cheap stuff . Your truck won't know if it came frome the dealer or not

is this the kit you need?

https://klmperformance.com/products...ilter-service-kit?variant=32011559272532

looks like 143 dollars and 120 in oil you would be at 263 that beats 400

Shell T4 Rotella 15/40 is 71 bucks for 5 gallons, a wix filter is 10 bucks tops, so your in 81 bucks for an oil change, fuel filters are 26 bucks each and your saying its 400, gimme a break!

I will, happily, pay someone to change my oil. I worked at a service station for a few years in high school. Changed oil in thousands of cars and trucks. I'm done crawling around on the ground, ruining clothes.

I can buy oil filters from Amazon, including the one for my 07 Cummins, delivered to the house for less than they cost at the local Walmart.
I do get Prime free delivery.

I guess I am the only one that buys and stockpiles oil and filters. With 6 vehicles, 3 tractors, 4 atv/utvs, lawnmowers, tillers and a multitude of things that take gear oil - I constantly am changing oil and checking transmissions and hydraulic fluids - I watch sales constantly and stock up as I know its something that is going to need done in a few months or next year........

I just picked up Mobil 1 5W-30 for my two Ford pickups and it was 108.00 for three jugs 5 qt each. I buy the filters by the case off Amazon for little over 3.00 each. That's 12 to a case. There the Mastercraft filters.

So much for keeping it local , guess I will have to buy from the internet. I do buy from Amazon quite a bit just never have for oil or filters or such. No do they sell and deliver fuel for less then 1/2 price

A lot cheaper than never changing the oil

Took my company truck to a new lof express place the other day. Sat in the truck while they did it and watched the whole process from a camera in the pit on a monitor mounted on the wall. Could very clearly see that it was done right.

I buy oil from Costco when it's on sale . 5 quart jugs in boxes . About $3.15 a quart for synthetic

I've even had boxes of oil shipped to my door for free . Not sure how that pencils out for them

Looks like the regular price for Kirkland full synthetic is $20/5 qt jug shipped to my door free just like you said! Iím gonna have to keep an eye out for the sale and order several changes worth. Even that regular price is about as good as youíll find anywhere for synthetic. Happy trapping! ScottW

I don't even have a Costco membership a co-worker does , as do some friends and family

when the oil sale comes around my co-worker is always watching for oil , I start shelling out 20s to cover the cost he has it shipped to my door.

I need some more 5w20 next time the sale rolls around

it was $32.xx for 10 quarts last time I ordered. that was shipped.
