I can start this one off , the Ruger Carbine 44mag
it is the size of a 10/22 , handles like a 10/22 , has really minimal recoil for a 240gr bullet going 15-1600fps it weighs about 1 1/4 pounds more than the 10/22 at 6 pounds 8 ounces
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

New England firearms single shot break action. .410 The better one, Winchester 37. The real 37 not the 37A.

The first year they were called a Deer Slayer and Ithaca had a patten on that name.

None! That’s part of what makes it cool when you hunt forever and finally find one to park in your safe! I don't exactly share that , I am not much of a safe parker I want to hunt them and shoot them. if it is a good desing I like to see more made for more people to enjoy them for the great tool they were and not hide them away. both tracks of thought are valid. I inherited a pair of rifles one of them is a 44 carbine I honestly never expected to inherit any , and these weren't family but a old hunting friend who passed. they really got me a lot of my early experience with guns. this was one of their hunting rifles , short and handy. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/07/full-35262-223061-rugercarbine44.jpg)

Original Ruger M77, some of the most accurate factory firearms I've ever reloaded for
I have the .243 and wish I had that in a .308 also.

I miss the plethora of ol WW2 Mausers what were sportorized and re-chambered in all kinds of rounds that you saw for $200 bucks at every gun show. At a garage sale sometimes, they were half that.
I had and unfortunately let them all 3 go at different times. That was a mistake. I assumed there wouls be a never ending supply but I was wrong. The best shooting rifle i ever owned was a Jap Arisaka chambered in .257 Roberts on a nice chunk of walnut and topped with a Redfield 3x9. I might have looked like someone had put a saddle on a sow but a box of 119 grain softpoints was 3 or 4 years of shooting. One cold bore test shot and 3 or 4 deer for the freezer.
Oh, and I should have bought a 10/22 Mag when they were easy to come by too.

you are absolutely not wrong and a point I was getting to the reason almost all of these guns above are no longer made is intricate small parts, machine time , and cost of production. what is made today has taken every step to make the least amount of production , machine time and assembly the 44carbine is full of machined parts that would cost a fortune to make today we know that it wasn't even a cheap rifle in 1960s it was like 200 then when you could have a marlin 336 in 30-30 for 80 dollars similar length gun and the Marlin was available at every hardware store and sears. they would both make the same things dead. so dollars to pounds of meat the Marlin or even Winchester 30-30 won a lot.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Benelli ultralight 12 gauge When did they stop making that? It’s been a few years-I was almost able to buy one that Cabela’s had stashed away for $900 but thought about it for a day and it was gone and that was 3 or 4 years ago.

the Browning High power 9mm pistols actually made a resurgence a couple years ago.
as the Springfield SA-35 and then Browning brought it back also
they of course did find issues at Springfield with the extractor after the initial run , seems they may have fixed it with a different extractor.

I meant “park” in your safe as in you own them. Not to relinquish them as queens. There’s not a gun I own that doesn’t get shot. My next hunt is for a Winchester 1895 in 30-06.

Parker's were brought back in a reproduction, at least for a time. I believe Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing brought the A.H. Fox back as well. A gun that cost the consumer $35 in 1930 will cost many multiple thousands for a reproduction today. That outstrips inflation by a long ways. I’ll add the Winchester Model 21 since I know you like SxS
