Everyone is cousins further back. Most people in any given area are fairly close cousins to each other.

There's a few people many millions of people are descended from, such as Ghenghis Khan. 8% of men of Irish descent are genetically, traceably descended from Nial of the Nine Hostages, who was born January 1st in 301. Every US President, but Van Buren is descended from him. All current European royalty is descended from him. Millions of people are descended from him.

People have 46 total chromosomes. Everyone gets 23 chromosomes from their mother contained in a single egg and 23 from their father contained in a single sperm. The 23 chromosomes from each parent pair together in 23 pairs, which is the genetic code that makes the individual person.

When sperms or eggs form, the cell which makes them, which has 46 chomosomes, in 23 attached and matched pairs, splits in two equal parts only containing 23 chromosomes. It's completely random which chromosome goes where. It's therefore possible, though unlikely, that a full sibling could get entirely different chromosomes than another.

Most people with white or Asian heritage have an average of 2% Neanderthal DNA. About 20% of the Neanderthal genome is still alive and well.

Many Asians have Denisovian ancestry as well.

It looks like pale skin and red hair probably comes from Neanderthals. Larger brain size did come from Neanderthals. Neanderthal stone tools were at least as good as early homosapien tools. Neanderthal burials were more elaborate than homosapien burials from the same time period. Neanderthals were better adapted to cold temperatures.

50% of inheritance is random chance so that can explain differences in closely related people or families. Also there are traits that are much more heritable or passed on then others, so that can impact similarities among closely related groups over generations. We did the ancestry thing about 5 years ago for Christmas. There were 12 of us in the mix. It was fun for about 20 minutes. I have not stayed involved with the updates they are trying to sell me. Finding out our heritage and the regions of where our ancestors came from was intersting to me.

And some men send these rest off for fun with their family and find out their kids are not directly related to them. Heard 3 similar horror stories recently. They were adult kids ot near adult kids in the accounts I heard
.tlak.about a night mare.

Makes one wonder.what would happen if every one was DNA tested at birth before they could be listed I n the birth certificates.

Seriously a lot of divorces have happened sending in these test kits for DNA find out where you came from test. Even had some people go to prison whan their mom or close relatives sent in test and it matched close to DNA from crimes in the system.

Add in China runs or buys the info from these companies I think a lot.mor harm can be done.than.good
