carter's terrible choices during his incredibly stupid Russian Grain Embargo, ended up providing US grain to Russia at much cheaper prices, through middle men countries and killed more US small family farms, than any natural disaster. This made it easy for mega farms to buy up millions of acres of US farm land at discount rates. Posing with a hammer a thousand times, will never make up for the permanent damage to our farmers carter caused.

Most honest president ever elected in my lifetime, though I did not vote for him he continued his public service and helped all over the world.

Completely sucked as a President. Otherwise a decent dude.

But the difference is Obama did it on purpose.

The only president I have seen in person. would never had voted for him but I don commend him for his humanitarian service.

If carter was truly a decent dude, he would have recognized his own gross incompetence and never ran for governor of Georgia and most definitely never have run for president. If he was a decent dude, he should have gave every cent he owned to the millions of farmers whose lives he destroyed.

I'd forgotten about Billy Beer!
I was just a kid then, but I remember seeing an ad somewhere that if you sent for it, Billy would send you an autographed (empty) Billy Beer can. I still have that can somewhere.

The man had the opportunity to do a lot of humanitarian work after being president and he took it, hopefully history will remember this when it judges him.

I remember when he went to North Korea to strike a deal with them to stop making nukes.

W. Bush was light years better than Trump. Not perfect at all, but the bar is low. And, I am mostly grading on a quality of human type scale.

He at 90+age was in Winnipeg working on some Habitat Homes and had a fall. Putting him in the hospital. he was very complementary about the service and the Canadian Health care system.
