These were a couple years ago at my cabin in SE. They kept breaking into the house and raiding my kitchen, so I had to solve the issue. I was curious to see them in a live trap, and a neighbor had one so I caught a few like this. After 5 or 6 (I can't remember) I got tired of drowning them in the cage and waiting for them to hang dry before processing, so I went back to the tried and true 120's.

Couple more pictures I found. The stretching board is homemade with no tools using what was available (I hadn't boated in much of my trapping stuff yet)

Do you guys not have them? I thought they lived pretty much anywhere with mountains and timber

No mountains in Western New York. I live about 4 miles east of lake Erie.
We have just recently had fisher introduced and my zone is off limits to trapping them. I have to travel about 7 more miles east to get to the nearest zone to trap fisher and it only has a five day season.
I believe the Catskill and Adirondack mountains of NY has marten. That would be about 5 to 7 hours drive east of me

Gotcha, I haven't ever been east of Montana. So I learned something today. We have them anywhere that there's trees (pretty much everywhere), but there is an excessive amount of marten in southeast because of the mild winters and abundant food
