What is your opinion on the short vs long in lethal tube traps? Does size matter.........?

Rarely use lethal traps for squirrels. Cage or force trap 98%.

I'm the opposite of Bob, I use lethal traps 98% of the time for grays. Long tubes hide the catch a bit more, but tails and back feet will still be visible. I have a couple short tubes, but haven't used them in years. They are good in tight spots that a longer one won't fit. I like tubes, no stress for the squirrels if you can't get to them quickly, will still be dead the next day if necessary. Can remove catch and reset without switching out traps.
I've had dead squirrels on a roof for a week when it snowed and was not safely reachable. You can't do that with a cage without letting the animal die from exposure, or risking your life to get it. But, ultimately it comes down to your technique and/or circumstances.

I do use cages and colony traps for reds. The tubes will catch them, but I think they are a little too big in general. I think they make a red sized tube, but I don't have any.

We’re using the adjustable pan tension ones now. Hiding the dead animal as much as possible is never a bad thing.

I have never heard of a tube with adjustable pan tension. What is that brand please?

Also, I use both techniques where I can. I'll positive set where possible, but always have some cages or tubes outside the hole for any that may have been out when i set my traps.

Thanks
