To me the more teams there are in the tournement, the more subjectivity in the slating. Evidently the power conferences must have a "factor" or some base if you will that helps them. I don't know how things like conference strength, schedule strength etc. are factored in. When one watches football or any sport for that matter and we witness the missed calles, subjective calls etc. etc. I don't find it surprising at all that selection of the teams comes with all that subjectivity as well. There is certainly a lot of money to be made or these colleges would not travel from coast to coast to play games or join conferences that give them better opportunities to make money with their teams and programs. We mention colleges most of the times but there is a lot of similar strategies at the HS level or even younger. It is far, far different than when I was young but then if that is the way our culture is choosing to go we best get used to it.

Bryce the crap is already starting in HS as well, some HS players are now getting big money soon as they graduate to come to a certain school! Saw one kid is getting 250 k on graduation day! It's all out of hand and needs to be corrected soon as possible. Until then it's just a big mess. No idea how anyone can build a team if your constantly having to put a team together every year, gone are the days developing a kid for 2 years before he see's meaningful playing time on the field. Coach's have no clue who they are going to have on their roster from year to year. Why you will see alot of good coach's take the Saban route and retire.

Win you're in, better than the media picking the champs. At least if they have a team ranked a tad lower that would've ended their chances the old way, that team has a shot now.

Penn St. remains in the 4 slot, having a flimsy schedule is the way to go in the future. First team they play in the play off's will roll over them and be a joke of a game. Lining up to look like a high school play off. Maybe Oh. state spent enough money to buy a championship this year.

4 of the better teams in what was known as the Pac 12 conference joined the Big10 this year and Penn State played and beat 3 of them, those Pac 12 schools found out how tough it is to win in the Big10 and now people think they are mediocre teams and not worthy opponents. Penn State beat a ranked Illinois team, and they beat Wisconsin which is usually a pretty good team. They beat West Virginia on the road and Minnesota probably played their best game all season and Penn State won. Penn State's only loss was to Ohio State and Penn State actually should have won that game. Now if you want to call that a weak schedule, so be it. But with the exception of the Ohio State game Penn State won the rest of their games to this point. Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi all lost to some inferior teams and you think they are more deserving,

they ruined college football with the NIL nonsense and how easy it is to transfer year to year . . I forget who it was but I watched a game last Saturday and half the players played for a different school last year . . it used to be that you had to sit out a year if you transferred from one D1 school to another, not anymore
