Man this year has been a thing I can't type. Knee surgery and other crap. But I noticed I was feeling my age when I was shimming down a country ditch to check my traps a few years ago. A I don't trust the legs feeling. When did you all start to feel it?

The last couple years, this winter at time’s was a wake up call as my hands don’t work as well as they used to I still have plenty of strength but to get my fingers to grip small things such as screws are really tuff, I can still work tig wire but I’m questioning how long that’ll last.

I had a knee replaced in 2006. Got a bad infection. Antibiotic IV for about three months then oral until the 23rd month. Additional surgery to clean ou the infected tissue. Finally had that knee replaced again.

Been nearly cripple since first surgery. Can walk 50 yards on flat ground.

I'm not there yet. I had a back surgery at 40 and I am 56 now. I found out today I can still hit a golf ball 300+ yards after taking off 10 years from the game. I'm sure, reality is coming for me, but not today!

I'm much to young to feel this Dang old!

My back went out this week while I was doing nothing, literally standing in the yard and bent over to pick up a saw and the next thing I knew agonizing pain.

Lower back is a little stiff, I can usually get it to limber up by mid morning though.
One thing I have noticed though is during the summer while commercial fishing, my back never gives me problems. I've wondered if jumping around doing stuff on the boat all day is what makes it better. BTW, 68 y.o..

77 years old but I'm not giving up yet. Arthritis in my hands pretty bad plus next to no feelings at times. Can't hardly sign my name so someone else can read it. I can still muscle around 50 pound bags of shell corn but it takes awhile. My balance is my biggest problem so I almost have to plan out each step on unlevel ground. No cane but I do use a walking stick when outside which is most of the day. I always had a physical job plus had our working farm. Figure I'll just keep doing what I can, when I can. One thing I've figured out is the worst thing you can do is sit around feeling sorry for yourself !!!

FOR 46, arthritis in my hands, 3 bulging disk in my lower back, right knee has some issues and an assortment of randomly occuring MS issues.

I believe its the miles not the age. I was on the floor laughing on my 40th b day when my wife walked in to the bedroom to see what I was laughing about. When I hoped up to get out of bed my knee dumped me without warning in the floor. It had not bothered me or dropped me before that. I was laughing saying its actually true you do start falling apart at 40 since it was my first step out of bed on my 40th b day.

Wait till you reach your 80s then get back to me. At 87 most ditch banks are out of my comfort zone. My new knee lets me get down and do dirt sets and I can still work some rat sets as long as the banks aren't too steep. But I have become a lefty since my right shoulder Is pretty messed up. I can lift but I can't reach up. I'm told shoulder surgery is a little iffy. It hasn't affected my ability to still flesh my hides, so I guess I'll live with it.

68 here. Some knee problems last winter convinced me to retire from wildlife services. I was starting to feel a little unsafe crawling around on structure in the middle of the night over fast moving tide water! Knee has recovered and I am looking forward to full blown fur trapping once again.

I'm 59
Some days I feel way older than I am
I know that all of the aftermarket hardware I have in my body doesn't work as well as factory equipment that's in good shape does. But that's how life goes. I am still able to get out and do most of the fun things I love doing. I just do them much slower and in smaller quantities. And sometimes it's not a pretty sight watching me do them. Especially when it comes to trapping. But I'm not letting it keep me from doing it. I'm going to plug along at my own pace and do what I can do. I know the day will come when I can no longer do any of the things I love..
But until then I'm enjoying all that I can

Just had my right ankle X-ray'd a couple days ago. The joint has collapsed and the spaces are full of arthritis. I can manage to hobble about 50 feet at best. Doc said either some cortisone injections or fuse the joint for the long road.

I told him there is no long road and I'll try the injections . They worked well in my shoulders.
Still have three more cords of birch to split so I'm gonna try that today.

I guess this is what I get for living such a clean life

The neighbor had his ankle joint fused and from what I can see I wouldn't do it. The guy can Hardly walk down to get the mail.

I’m at the age where you don’t feel stuff. Getting bruises or cuts and have no idea where they came from.

I’m 68, but I aged in dog years. One year = seven. Beat up my body from 37 years crawling on my knees in the mine. Some days, even my hair hurts.

It's from getting out of a chanboat on a tidal river. Climbing a small cliff with a ladder and putting the ladder up to look for bears.... The big ones

Had a friend tell me when I retired, 60-70 are the go go years. 70-80 the slow go years. 80 and beyond the no go years. I'm 74 and that seems fairly accurate so far. What took me two days at 40 takes me two weeks now. Still trappin' though.

I have always been like that. Look down and see a big purple and green/yellow brise and wonder where it came from.

You look like your in better shape than a lot of men in there 20s and 30s.
